Covid 19 Update

We just wanted to let you know that we will remain OPEN and fully operational during the second Covid 19 lockdown commencing on 5th November 2020. As a provider of ‘primary eye care’ we are classed as an essential service by the Government and Opticians premises are classified as ‘essential retail’.

If you have a pre booked appointment arranged it will go ahead as planned. You are also able to purchase eyewear; contact lenses and solutions in practice or via our website.

We continue to prioritise your safety, and that of our staff, with appropriate social distancing and sanitisation measures in the practice. After the initial lockdown in March 2020, we implemented new eye examination equipment; new operating procedures (including a new patient journey) and have the appropriate PPE to enable us to provide our usual high levels of care in a safe environment.

Staffing & Temporary Opening Hours Changes

There are a number of changes being made to our staffing arrangements over the next few weeks.

Katie Boast is our new Optical Assistant who started working with us just a few weeks ago. From recommending the perfect frames, to making appointments – she’s here to help you with all your eyecare and eyewear needs.

Angus Maclaren Ross has been with us for a number of years as one of our Optometrists. He is reducing his days with us this month and will be leaving at the start of December. He is moving back to London to be near his family and also to return to university. We wish him well in his new career. We have a new part time Optometrist (Jay Joshi) joining us shortly.

Emma Cameron has been with us throughout the first lockdown period dispensing new glasses (and fixing broken ones). Emma is leaving us (only temporarily!) on maternity leave. We wish her well and look forward to seeing her back with us in due course.

These changes will leave us slightly short staffed temporarily so we will be closing on Wednesdays for a few weeks from Wednesday 11th November. This is to ensure we can continue to provide the right care to our patients, and deliver the same quality of service which you deserve, and we have always provided. This is a temporary arrangement only. It does not affect the services we are providing and we are still happy to see our patients for their eye care needs.

Of course, we will still be providing emergency cover and you will be able to request appointments or purchase eyewear and contact lenses via our (new) website.
