Braille within our society

This year we celebrate the 200th anniversary of Louis Braille's invention of the internationally recognised system of raised dots that enables people who are visually impaired to read and write by touch. Louis Braille’s ground-breaking work has significantly improved the lives of countless individuals with visual impairments, enabling them to access literature, education, and information independently.

World Braille Day is celebrated in the month of January world to promote this sometimes forgotten, but incredibly powerful, method of communication, it also highlights the continued relevance of Braille in the digital age
